Trip to Tumaini is a life changing experience. Our activities include teaching life skills and physical education, conducting reading and art classes at the school.  Vocational bible study, visiting the widows and poor families in the villages with food baskets, speaking to primary children and youth in our mentorship and career development program, washing the babies and playing with the orphans. Manual work like painting, construction and repairs. Lastly nurturing the talents of the children and youth.

Climate:  Kakamega’s climate is classified as tropical. The average temperature is 20.4 °C. About 1971 mm of precipitation falls annually. We have summer in November to February, heavy rains in March to July and short rains in august to October.  Welcome!

Tumaini is an organization focusing on the disadvantaged in the community and heartbeat is to change our community for a better future. Tumaini Miles of Smiles activities revolve around caring for the orphaned and vulnerable children, provision of quality education and skills, community empowerment, free medical programs and nurturing talents among the youths.

Sponsorship Program

Tumaini is a Swahili word for ‘HOPE’, Sponsor a child today and help break poverty cycle and bring hope to children, widows and families leaving a mark that will never be forgotten

The Soul Food Project

This campaign targets spiritual needs in addition to physical needs. Over 300 Bibles have been given to Tumaini students, staff and guadians and the community around.
