High School Tuition Fund
It’s no secret that education levels the playing field of opportunity. It gives individuals the capacity to obtain a diploma, boosting the chances of finding a stable job which will lead a better standard of living. If high school education is not achieved, this standard drops significantly. In Kakamega County, about 237,570 children go through primary school (grades 1-8), but only 20% join high school. Many families cannot afford school fees, so secondary education is foregone. Despite the fact that rural areas are lack infrastructure and exposure, most of the students have the capacity to realize their dreams but the circumstances under which they live limits their potential. TMSC is providing quality education to the disadvantaged, gives them an opportunity to graduate high school and join universities. This project has been extremely successful with over 100 students joining different universities and colleges.
The number of high school students increases every year and to meet the need and help these students stay in school, we need more individuals and organisations partnership. We cannot go alone but we believe together we can make it happen. A onetime donation or a monthly donation towards this Tuition Fund will enable a needy student to stay in school and concentrate on his/her studies. It is now 8 years since our children started joining high school and it is satisfying seeing them graduating high school.
