TUMAINI Means HOPE in Swahili
We work towards changing lives, creating smiles and hope. Our activities revolve around caring for the orphaned and vulnerable children, provision of quality education and skills, community empowerment, free medical programs and nurturing talents among the youths.
Our Programs

Primary Education
Sponsorship is a powerful tool for breaking the poverty cycle in the lives of the needy. Through sponsoring a child, you will become part of Tumaini family and you will be leaving a mark that will never be forgotten, your name will be remembered every time of testimony.

High School tuition fund
Education is typically viewed as a powerful factor in levelling the field of opportunity as it provides individuals with the capacity to obtain a higher income and standard of living. In Kakamega county, west of Kenya about 20% children who go through primary school join high school.

Trade School
In rural areas where our focus is, not all the students are good with books, some don’t have even basic education and this can be a big challenge for poverty eradication. It is for this reason that lurale vocational school was set up to give those with no basic education a chance to learn basic education and a skill.

Women Empowerment
Margaret Thatcher said that “if you want something said, ask a man; if you want something done, ask a woman.”
TMSC has identified a cow program that will empower these women and give them a tool to break the cycle of poverty by educating their children or by supporting them to get a skill.
Why Choose Us

We focus on rural areas where the need is felt most and solutions are minimal.

Our attention is holistic, spiritual, emotional and physical.

We are faithful with spiritual, physical and financial resources entrusted.

Testimonial
When my mom died I was young and didn’t know what to do. I remember I could only cry and isolate myself from everybody. My older siblings understood what was happening and they were crying every day.
My name is Vivian Khakayi. Currently, I am a student at Masinde Muliro University pursuing a degree in Bachelor of Commerce. I really thank God for the far He has brought me up to this moment.
I am a pioneer student at Tumaini Miles of Smiles Children Home. I have been here since 2011 and over the years I have actually benefited much from the sponsorship.
